Wednesday of the Ninth Week of Ordinary Time

Today's Mass Readings

For some people who know me, this might come as a shock, but I am a very shy person. However, when I get to know someone, I start to come out of my comfort zone.

Today, St. Paul tells St. Timothy, “God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather of power and love and self-control. So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord.” I have Attention Deficit Disorder, and this is a very big cross for me. This is also the reason of my shyness. I am often afraid, even now, that I will say the wrong thing or hurt someone whom I love.

The responsorial psalm reads, “To you, O Lord, I lift up my eyes.” I know that I can do nothing by myself; I have to place all of my trust in Jesus. Though I struggle with the crosses I carry, I rely daily on the great weapon he gave to St. Faustina — the Divine Mercy image of blood and water gushing forth from his Sacred Heart and those five little words, “Jesus, I trust in you.”

With total faith in Jesus and Mary, and even though being a very weak instrument to the both of them, I am not ashamed to spread the Gospel by any means, I place all my trust in them. But how can you spread the Gospel today? Whether it is through a conversation the supermarket or a post on Facebook, I challenge you to share the Good News today.
